What I use on the streets...

Many ask what Camera / Lens I use whilst traveling or roaming about doing street photography..... It's simple really, while I like to "travel light" I do like to ensure I have the right gear to enable me to "capture the shot" in any conditions. Generally I'll prefer to take one or more of the following:

- Nikon D3S Camera with Nikkor 24mm f1.4G AF-S Lens.
- Leica M9-P Camera with Leica 50mm f1.4 Summilux ASPH Lens.
- Fujifilm X100 Compact Camera.

With these cameras above I really can capture any photo in all conditions, yes the D3S is not discreet ( it's a massive brick ) - but it does what no other can and that is taking photos in the lowest of light or near darkness - very useful for street photography.
I do like to carry wider angle lenses like the 24mm, and will always try to purchase lenses in the f1.4-f2.0 range when and where possible - albeit at a major dent to the bank account !!

So get out there, don't be shy and just grab the shot when you see it - GO CAPTURE THE MOMENT !
